I don’t normally write reviews, but what they did to Firestarter is criminal. Even without the original and the book, this is a terrible movie. Basic movie mechanics (editing, sets, special effects) were horrid. Only saving grace was the acting I was so stoked for this remake, to see such a great story with updated technology. Unfortunately they butchered it - changing characters, eliminating character development, deleting important plot lines. And most unforgivable, it lost the essence of the story - a father fighting to save his daughter. If you think you’d like a low budget sci fi movie produced by the Lifetime channel, then this is for you. Otherwise, save your time. Wish I could do the same.
