I was hoping for more. It was like a pond that's a mile wide and an inch deep. It tried to tackle too much without explaining enough and character development suffered for it. I could see how he (Costner) is trying to bring all of the various stories together into a cohesive whole, but it loses something by too many subtle inferences and possibly expecting the audience to have a firmer grasp of American history immediately prior to the Civil War. Scenery and Cinematography were beautiful, but the movie made me work too hard to understand what all was going on. I came away a little disappointed.

I enjoyed it until the fat man fell into the well, didn't die and then climbed back out. I turned it off after that.

I've been a Firefighter for 29 years. This show is so asinine that the best thing about it is how much we laughed at its stupidity when we watched it once as a crew
