I read the trilogy in high school and again several years later and once more about 10 years ago. This awful attempt barely follows the books and of course diversity raised its head and changed characters and added others. I am so tired of this. Take the book, follow it and its characters, and don't change anything to keep from offending people who get easily offended. if it you are offended because of any number of reasons which usually means, not diverse enough, then grow up. When books and stores are changed so as not to offend anyone it loses its character. It loses its overall meaning. And Foundation pretty much loses it all in order not to offend anyone and tries to dumb down the plot arc and his thinking of what the future will be and how it can be manipulated.
The series seems to be more about creating 'mysterious" going on, then a lot of special effects as everyone loves spaceships and what not.
The story as presented leaves out almost completely Asimov's ideas and thoughts about how this fictional universe far in the future is.
And what DA came up with the idea of mystical goings on like some part of Star Trek 3 and all the mystical goings on of bring Spock back to life a priestess and the banging and getups and I wondered HOW can this be a society so immersed in logic and intelligence has this nonsense going on??
Same with some scenes in this series. The writers obviously never really read the books and just decided to throw this idiocy into the series where it has no place to begin with.
WHY is it so hard to just take the book and write it the way it was written and what Asimov's was getting across. NOPE gotta throw in all kinds of things since Star Wars came out (Which I love) but they tried too hard to make it dumbed down and as such lost the point of the books.
