I'm not sure what to praise about this movie first. The fact that the effects still hold up to today's standards and honestly look better been a lot of CGI monsters today is truly a testiment to the amaxing make up and special effects team. The dialogue is wonderfully punchy and quickly let you know who each character is and gives you just enough to get attached. The sound design is some of the best I've ever seen completely immeres you in the jungle. The acting also feels so real. Absolute classic.

Kate Blanchette really does her best to elevate a horrible boring script but it's not enough. This movie feels like a Sundance film. If you like slow pointless movies enjoy!

I didn't know there was such a thing as a giant nose kink but whoever the casting director of this movie is definitely has it. Everyone in this movie has a giant nose it's distracting and strange. If you don't like Sundance movies this is definitely not for you. Super slow and boring with not much happening until the last 30 minutes. Another thriller/drama trying to make money by calling itself a horror movie. This is an annoying trend I've seen a lot of lately. The acting choices are also very strange. The woman is checking someone into a motel and plays it up like she thinks they're going to stab her any second when all they're doing is taking a room key. My only explanation is maybe the actress is pretending to be mentally ill I'm not sure. "Do you smell that or are they molecules binding to your nasal cavity" is the most asinine line I've ever heard in a script.

I'm going to be honest the main reason that I'm giving this three stars is the visuals. The way it is shot is absolutely gorgeous. It has a really nice film grain to it that reminds me of a much better horror movie grindhouse. It's an interesting romp but no substance at all. The only character you really have any feelings for is the crazy lady. I did love the opening though and every time she was in a scene she stole it. I plan on watching all three because of the hype and I've heard the second one is better.

I just don't get the love for this movie at all. It is definitely the worst in the franchise. Firstly, my grandmother was a Cherokee and there is no discrimination about female warriors as they show in this that's just some drama for the movie but putting that aside the pacing is insanely slow. I mean 30 minutes in and we've seen the predators hand killing a snake and that's pretty much it. Nothing but people talking and long long scenes of them walking. Beyond that it is so unrealistic that this girl takes the hits that she does. Watch the way the predators weapon reacts to the environment and then how it reacts when the girl gets hit with it. Then there's the bad CGI which already looks dated two years later. I recently did a rewatch of the original two predators and the effects honestly look better and more realistic in it. Like we couldn't get one or two shots of an actual animal just these cartoony looking CGI creations? The best part of the movie was the predator taking out the grizzly bear. Also it's weird to me that there's all these humans around with weapons but the predator would rather hunt animals like a wolf for no reason? Predators always go for the hardest to destroy prey yet this one is just going around murdering things for no reason that are insanely weaker than it. The whole thing just completely goes against the way the characters have been written in every other movie and not in a good way.

Deserves better reviews! Excellent acting and keeps you on edge the whole time!

Firstly this is not a horror movie so if that's what you're looking for just know they advertised it wrong. Secondly the characters are probably only enjoyable if you're 12. I really tried to make it through this movie because everybody was saying how good it is but not one of the characters is likable and it becomes very hard to follow because they're not fleshed out well. The script is crap but the acting and cinematography are decent.

Clooney and Pitt are as wonderful as they always are and if it wasn't for them this probably would have been a B movie considering how the script is. It's slightly entertaining and made me laugh a few times but it feels like it's trying to be something like The godfather or Goodfellas and those movies are just too slow paced for a moviegoers nowadays. The script is decent but nothing spectacular. It was a pretty interesting concept and could have been a lot better with a better script and a bit better pacing.

So many movies could learn from this. Slow pacing is fine but you have to keep the audience engaged and this film definitely does every second! I don't think there was a moment that I didn't have my eyes glued to the screen! James McAvoy is amazing as always but the rest of the cast is pretty spectacular as well especially the child actors! Probably the best horror movie I've seen this year!

I don't understand why this movie got so many good reviews. I seriously couldn't get past the first 40 minutes the most boring serial killer movie I've ever seen in my life. The characters are boring and even the killer isn't very interesting. Honestly the fact that this got such a high rating is causing me to no longer trust rotten tomatoes.
