NOT what I expected from one of my favorite directors in Rakesh Mehra (RDB, D6, BMB). Thin story, too many religious gimmicks, inconsistent, convenient. Farhan Akhtar, I really like watching him, but he repeated himself too much (one of his shallowest performance). The bouts which were meant to be the highlights were nothing special, infact too run of the meal. Good to see Paresh Rawal on the screen after while, some of his initials scenes were cracking, but then just faded away. His chemistry with Mohan Agashe could have been a lot more, Agashe in context came out trump's to Rawal. Mrunal Thakkur lit up the screen. The lady deserves to find more and good work then being a prop. Really like watching her! Supriya Pathak as a irrelevant nurse, Really? It should have been so much more from Rakesh Mehra if he was to make a movie on boxing, since it will be the only movie he will make on the subject. Watch The Cindrella Man instead if you want boxing and drama.

Unnecessary, incompetent and meaningless. Vineet completely waisted, Manjari Pupala the only relevant performance (though mostly 1 tracked) in 3 hours of the show. Feels like a weekend waisted even during lockdown!

(Recently watched on OTT) Match highlights done by Actors! Minus all the good and not so good performances, I kept wondering why everyone in the movie agreed to do this. It fundamentally has NO story, just a scattered events of a winning team between match highlights. The director Kabir Khan misses the point completely. By the time I ended up watching the whole stuff, I thought to myself why this wasn't done as a documentary/docuseries with actual highlights and stories from the mouth of the actual legends. A golden opportunity about a golden moment in Indian Sporting history ABSOLUTELY WASTED!
