I've waited until I got the platinum trophy for it before leaving my review, and I've platinumed every final fantasy game with the exception of 14 which I really like but play on pc. I also have been playing final fantasy games for a long time, I've completed all main line games 1 through to 15. Just a big rpg lover 😄 Also too many reviews are based on a few hours of game play which is crazy, finish the game first and then give your thoughts!! I enjoyed the first few hours alot myself but it goes down hill! Review games in full not a small %! Rant over. Ok so 3 stars I feel is a fair review and I hate being super negative to games as I'd hate to be a game dev (must be horrible to see negative things about things you create.) I feel the game is actually a good reflection on the original, (few hours)of the game the characters are really well designed and represented really well. Also the game is clearly a beauty to look at which is no surprise with who's making it! I also for the most part enjoyed the sound track as it's great to hear old classics in a new way. Sadly that's all the positives out of the way, the game feels like a padded out demo.. the addition of really boring side quests to add more game time, (game its self isnt long enough by far.) And how can so many chapters be that dull? Are we expected to buy more than 5 or 6 games just to finish the game? Who knows how many games it will end up at. Boss fights start off really wow! But they all follow similar patterns in that they have phases and it can be frustrating to stagger a boss for it then to switch to its next phase and the stagger bar is reset. I have no major problems with the combat it's fine similar to kingdom hearts combat style but it feels more fun on KH. Also slight spoiler but glitch alert.. when in the vents on chapter 16 I looked down one of the optional vents for it to not let me out of viewing the vent.. a game breaking glitch! I googled it and I wasnt alone and my friend also reported the same issue. I only want my opinion to be heard as I LOVE the series and it makes me so sad there hasn't been an amazing final fantasy for so long now! I have all but given up hope for an epic final fantasy again. So yeah the game just isnt fun for most parts there are some fun chapters and the scenes look amazing but there is just far too much padding and boring stuff throughout. An average game.
