An interesting take on a secret order (in this case, of Warrior Nuns) holding the line to stop demons from taking our world. The lead character, Ava, is relatable in her journey to figure out what to do with her second chance while struggling with her inner demons & a sacred duty that has been thrust upon her. The supporting characters provide a solid foundation to reveal the world this fictional world belongs to & serves to move the story forward. Add decent to good fight scenes & an interesting surprise twist in the end and you've got a fun ride. The only thing I didn't like was how they ended the season... which is a cliffhanger, forcing us to wait for a second season (if it ever materializes) for a satisfying resolution to the season's story arc.

It's an interesting show with interesting fleshed-out characters & a great cast. Going in blind (without knowing anything about "The Wilds") is the best way to enjoy the young women's stories as they unfold & serve as a mirror to the emotional trials everyone faces as well as our human reactions to them. You'll find many parallels to "Lost" but you'll be guided behind the curtain of the whys early on as breadcrumbs lead you to the bigger picture. My major gripe about the show is that the 10-episode season felt incomplete, ending in a devastating low, & the obligatory reveal for the 2nd season without answering some important questions (particularly how a couple of key characters ended up where they were toward the end). Nevertheless, it's definitely worth watching (the first couple of episodes should let you know if this is your cup of tea) & I strongly recommend it... though you may want to wait for season 2 if you like things resolved & not strung along. *Note: I docked a star since I don't like shows that leave the season ender hanging with stuff unresolved... I prefer each season to have a resolution... then they can tease the end for what comes next.

A warm embrace of nostalgia sprinkled with the promise of great storytelling to come. This is what I felt as I experienced the first episode of this amazing series. It's great to see Patrick in his iconic role, my Captain Picard is definitely back and I can't wait to meet his new crew as well as see what adventures lie ahead.

A fantasy adaptation that weaves tales slowly with intertwining timelines that could confuse viewers in its early chapters but those who stay with the world building will be rewarded with an interesting tale about a princess, a mage, & a mutant who have been bonded by destiny in a world of monsters, magic, & feuding kingdoms. It's definitely worth a watch if you're a fan of high fantasy, the source material, or the excellent video game trilogy.
