I was so excited about this series but to not have true visual depictions of the characters from the books was disappointing and something I couldn't overlook. I understand the characters have to have the same soul but they need to have the same look too, and honestly, I'm surprised Rick Riordon would move away from the characters he created, especially after fans criticised having a brunette Annabeth in the movies. A book allows the imagination to visualise a character based on a description. This series destroyed that for me.
But it seems this is happening a lot more now with both books and animation. It's no longer about being true to the original.
If you've read the books, forget this series. I'll stick to Harry Potter.
