Solid movie I don’t understand all the hate. Definitely rate it 7/10 or higher. Reminded me of the show Falling Skies.

As someone who’s never read the books, this wasn’t as bad a film as I was lead to believe in other reviews. It reminds me a great deal of the spiderwick chronicles (movie) and I think it’s a decent young adult fantasy film. Josh Gad was my favorite part of this film who was both entertaining and a decently written character. I know this movie doesn’t follow the books, but I don’t think it’s a bad film. It’s a decent light fantasy for families and young adults.
