*spoilers*
It’s not often that a book leaves me so engaged that I stay up until 4am finishing it, even though I have work at 8am. Where the Crawdads Sings did that for me.
I loved this book. The way Owens describes the marsh… chef’s kiss. The story was amazing, and the fact that she was finally accepted by the end of the book provides hope for those who have also been outcasted.
The only thing that I wasn’t a fan of was the fact that Kya did it. It kind of ruined the whole acceptance thing. But even so, Kya is still Kya, and I’m not even upset that she got away with it. She deserved love, happiness, and acceptance, and I was happy to see that she got it.
