Regardless if you are aware of the the history behind Italy's most iconic fashion brand, House of Gucci is an enjoyable if not long tale of love, greed, familial tension and ultimately revenge. Lady Gaga flexes her acting chops once again with a mesmerising portrayal of Patrizia, while Adam Driver is a perfect casting choice for the reserved Mauritio. Watching the waxing then waning fortunes of the power couple is a guilty pleasure, but 2+ hours later, the the climax of the films feels rather anti-climatic (well, in contrast to the awkward but highly aerobic love scenes). This feels somewhere between fine trash TV and a Netflix crime biopic. And that's not a bad thing.
