Shangri-La Frontier somewhat reminded me of a Dark Soul player who goes shirtless and wears a bucket on his head, and the main protagonist here is wearing a bird mask and also goes shirtless; going hardcore with his gaming skills while trying to overcome anything that is levels above him in the spirit of challenging himself. The anime gives you this sense of underdog that I love to watch- it feels fresh than other anime within the same genre, and the characters are appealing and hilarious to follow through.
