Similarly, all the 1 star reviews are angry people criticizing not the movie, but the fact it isnt like the book. The movie isn’t about displaying the book, it’s about displaying the book’s purpose, which was to show how truly gruesome WW1 was to the germans. The movie deserved the awards it got and was truly a great movie, I recommend all to watch it, but please, stop criticizing a movie for not following the book when it follows the purpose, I doubt anyone who watched the old one where they followed the book, really thought deeply about the horrors of WW1, but this movie slaps you in the face with the purpose the book was trying to give.
