Dreadful! I watched approximately 40 minutes of the first episode and couldn’t watch anymore. Shockingly overacted, so obviously set in Australia, not California. I’ve read all of Liane Moriarty’s books, it was my least favourite of hers, but still had hope it could make an interesting mini series, very disappointed. Like Big Little Lies, why did it have to be Americanised. At least Big Little Lies was watchable due to excellent casting and good acting.

Sorry, didn’t like it at all. Slow, tedious and overly staged. I wanted to like it, I love quirky arty movies, I have no issues with subtitles or the black and white format but it never really takes off. I watched it with 2 other people, we really wanted to see it after all the hype and awards, but we gave up after about 40 minutes in. The opening scene of soapy water being washed over a paved driveway goes on and on. The lead actress who plays Cleo was the best thing about the movie.
