Adam Stater

The only reason it gets 2 stars is because the costumes and set are truly so beautiful and something to look at. However the acting and script of the show is so awful and atrocious that I could barely get through any of the episodes. The lead girl is a vacuum of emotion, with none of her lines having any feeling or inflection. She does not do any credit to Meryl Streep’s name, her mother. The only reason I think she got this role is because of her famous, and oh so talented mother Meryl. The rest of the cast seem like they have no clue how to execute their lines properly, and sound, for lack of a better word, stupid. It doesn’t help that the script is so badly written. The only actors capable of making sense of the awful script are Audra McDonald and Kelli O’Hara (go stars), who actually know how to say their lines properly, and deserve to be wearing the excellent costumes of the show. I have no clue how this show is so popular and if you want to see a good period piece from recent times watch Emma with Anya Taylor Joy. I do not recommend people watch this.
