I'm a huge fan of Queen who was fortunate to have seen them three times in concert during the late 70s where they dominated rock.
I went to the movie knowing the story of Queen and Freddie and really did not expect much from the movie. In the end, I found the movie to be a moving and brilliant snapshot of both the tortured soul / personality of Freddie Mercury as well as the dynamics of this incredibly gifted and talented quartet of musicians. They were superb entertainers live, and brilliant in the studio. The music from theri debut album, Queen to The Game can stand up with any rock group ---- an amazing collection of songs and music. The movie could not possibly satisfy every aspect of the Queen story, but I thought it delicately and appropriately balanced the main elements of the story. The audience broke out in applause at the end, which tells you something --- either --- there are a lot of Queen fans in the world, and / or , this was a pretty damn good movie.
