I actually thought it was pretty good and would love to see the original (before the Mera cuts). The character Mera shouldn't have suffered being so limited. This is one of the few movies I've seen with an active queen. Instead of sitting there while her husband tries to fix the major problem; she is proactive and engages in combat. That felt more realistic: I don't think I know any women who would sit and do nothing if her entire family was in danger.
I don't think the Heard/Depp controversy should have harmed either of their careers and that their personal lives should've been separate from their projects.
