Cross has a few great cast members, Cross and the people around him are great but the show's writing is fairly weak. I haven't read any of the books but enjoyed all the movies about Alex Cross. Unfortunately the series is written as a trope from someone who didn't have advice or have knowledge of real world and comes off as a trope for modern policing, rather than a skilled detective. Immediately he have no understanding of policing, even in a modern sense, which kills the vibe of Cross being smarter than them. If he were involved in this police department he would either run to take it over to get rid of the bad police or change to another station, which he isn't doing and doesn't object other than to comment occasionally about it. This isn't the only dumb things within the series. The movies are written intelligently while the series is written at a grade school level. Feels like an old 80's sitcom updated to fit today's agenda, written to appeal to a lower audience, not sure if its trying to make us hate police or if the writer just doesn't understand that is what he conveys.
So far I've been able to watch a few episodes, hoping it will get better but I have little hope.
