I’m fed up of poor phoned in film versions of a game series I’ve been fully invested in since 1998, but this isn’t one of them. Paying homage to the die hard with puzzles and subtle nods (ie the typewriter in ep 2 or 3) and spun its own new ideas with some really great twists. Production was great as well as the acting and got me invested. If you like resident evil you will like this. If you love resident evil too much thinking nothing but the main line games can tell the story you’ll hate this like the rest of your life. But if like me you love resident evil but also can accept this franchise need to push its self to non game playing fans then you’ll love it.
