Can we as a society stop hyping mediocre movies just because our favorite stars are in them?
This is not an amazing movie it is a four hour long mess. It has "badass" visuals and bgm. But the characters are so one dimensional, the plot is inconsistent and editing is choppy. Also the dialogue is genuinely terrible, nobody says these things in real life. There is not a shred of believability.
There are actual good movies with flawed characters and violence like Scarface, Goodfellas, Gangs of Wasseypur but they don't glorify the characters in such a ridiculous way like this film. They show the reality, consequences and ultimate demise. They don't show the main character who is committing awful acts as some kind of hero.
This film shows butchering, using women, and violence just for the sake of it. Just to seem cool, there is no purpose or deeper meaning. It felicitates such behavior, the same way a daddy issue, anger issue ridden twelve year old boy who thinks these things are cool would. Hence, it glorifies it.
In fact this whole film seems to be something made by 12 year boy with anger issues. People are saying that it was made as a response to critics. Which is weird sore loser type behavior. At least make a good, watchable film as a response.
