Was wary of watching it because of the violence/abuse and I'm sure for those who have experienced that of any kind some scenes (not many ) will be tough. Injuries quite graphic.
Just came home after watching it and my mind was blown. I thought it was exceptional, the soundtrack fitted so well and worked incredibly and each character's perspective was shown in depth.
I liked how it showed Ray's perspective and allowed us to understand his behaviour. It was very real, at one point a character sung at a kareoke and I had to stop myself from clapping after with the characters because I was so immersed. One thing that I will say is that it went on for slightly too long in my opinion, there was a scene where I thought it was going to end but it kept going. Whilst I was still very immersed in those (in my view) extra scenes, and was satisfied with the positivity in the final scene, there were some I felt dragged on slightly. However, in saying that..
I left thinking it was excellent, important representation, music and character depth. Realistic but not boring, heart warming, heart breaking, sometimes at the same time. Extraordinary film.
