Good action sequences, but the lack of context and political comment left me wondering what the point of it was - that war photographers & journalists take enormous risks in doing their jobs? We know. I thought this film was going to say something profound about the US in the 2020s, but it didn’t. Or, if it did, it was buried pretty deep…

It IS good TV, and it DOES pack an emotional punch (just try and get past episode 3 without turning into a blubbering mess), but... honestly? Exactly who has ever moved to London (or any big city) and lived with the exact same four or five people in the exact same flat for five years? And not changed their hairstyle in the intervening years...? I am awarding bonus points, though, for the packet of Golden Wonder crisps, and the brief clip of EastEnders featuring Nick Berry's era-defining mullet.
Andria Doherty as Colin's mum, though. Just fantastic.
