Fantastic right from the off! Constantly keeps you focused, even on the slower sections. Ragnar, Bjorn, Rollo &Lagertha, all very strong characters that keep you coming back for more. the supporting cast are strong too, helping to fill the gaps and contribute to excitement of this epic series.

Season 1-2 good. Cringey season 3 with its comedy stereotypes based on Ireland. Season 4-6 outrageous storytelling and plotholes start appear, you get a sense that the writers are getting lazy. Stopped watching in early season 7 as it just got boring 😴

What starts out as potentially good series quickly descended into terrible plots, annoying characters and unrealistic, illogical scenarios. The first couple of episodes fair quite well, albeit very unrealistic. Coupled together with a terrible script and acting so bad, the actors seemed to "overact" in some scenes. This is not a very good mix. The series ended badly with me not "rooting" for any character, they could have all died and I wouldn't have cared. None of the characters had any coherence/bond between them. One minute they hated one person and the next they loved them! Baffling to say the least. The characters themselves are too unbelievable. Every female, apart from 1 who died early on is overly assertive and aggressive and the men are all weak and submissive. Rather than having a realistic mix all the men move around like gawping sheep while the women shout out when things dont go their way like unruly teenagers throwing a tantrum. Did they want to empower women or just make them look stupid? If there's a 2nd series to this, I wont care enough to watch.
