It's definitely worth a watch. -No plot spoilers, just one nuanced goofy thing - Very interesting plot and things play out well. The main thing that drags it down a little is the dialogue. That's what gets clunky to me at times...that, and whatever the hell that thing was that looked like a glowing 1985 Nintendo cartridge; made me giggle. There are definitely weird things that would normally make me annoyed at a film, but the story actually plays into it later so can't complain there. 100% worth a matinee, and nice to go to a fun film that is not two and a half hours long.

Yep. It deserves 5 stars. Shazam: Fury of the Gods is actually a fun DC movie that doesn't get full of itself like so many other DC movies over the last 10 years. The plot with the sisters is interesting, and actually ties into the first movie which so many superhero movies fail to do. The family theme is still very strong as well. It's not a perfect movie but it's a really good comic book movie, hence the five stars. My only real gripe is that the story didn't allow for Asher Angel to do more. I think he has about four lines the whole movie as Billy Batson himself isn't often seen. So when I read complaints about Zachary Levi not emulating his costar's performance like the other pairs, it's annoying because neither him nor Asher had more to go on. The other kids got at least a decent amount of screen time. Warner Brothers Discovery is failing left and right, and it's treatment of it's MVP's are suffering as a result. That's why the movie didn't do well at the box office in my opinion. I barely even knew when the movie was coming out and I was paying attention! Bottom line, I'm glad I went to see it in the theater.

I've watched and reviewed a couple movies that are routinely slammed. This one, however, deserves every bit of the criticism it receives. The only likable characters end up very flat... SPOILER... and dead. Love scenes can mean something, and the one here was there just to be there; it just felt gross. You never really feel like the story is going anywhere, as such, it feels discombobulated. My head kept nodding back because I was so bored. Determined this movie couldn't be as bad as so many have said, I struggled through it. 100% awful...'nough said.

Ok. This movie is actually good and definitely worth watching. A super hero (anti-hero) movie with themes that follow through the story and the characters, i.e., it's not all just plot. The story is very good as a whole. Dwayne Johnson does very well and Aldis Hodge is great (and funny) as always. My only true complaint is a music choice early in the movie which feels cheesy, you'll know it when you hear it. Maybe the mom, kid, and villain could have used a little more development. However, they did a good job for having so many characters pivotal to the story without making it a 3 hr endeavor. And I thought nice choices were made on the special effects, especially when it comes to actually seeing Cyclone in action. Honestly, I thought Man of Steel was a debacle in all these aspects even though I like Cavil. Good job to everyone involved in Black Adam!
