It's unfortunate so much negativity rules the internet today. This was a far better Star Wars movie than critics and articles are telling us. Coming from a light fan since the original trilogy...It was that good. Light years better than The Last Jedi. The movie was engaging. The visuals were dazzling. Even the story was very good. If you miss out on this movie because you judge the last one, you're missing out on a very good SW movie. It's well worth it.

To be honest, it's a well made movie, but the wrong movie. It works to illegitimatize the Skywalkers, yet Star Wars was the story about the Skywalkers. I had higher hopes for seeing the Grand master Luke in action, but was left disappointed. I did have thoughts that there was more to Rey's background than what met our ears in this movie, so I didn't fret so much when we were given the "they were nobodies" story. Besides that, it seems like crappy script writing where the first order took most of the movie to destroy 3 ships. Also, it had a Phantom Menace feel to it...especially with the Casino planet. Which also seemed like lazy writing. Actually it just seemed really out of place.

Amazingly engaging story. I enjoyed watching NGR and Voyager, but did not have enough interest in newer shows like Enterprise or Discovery. I was looking for a new show and decided to try Picard. I was astonished. The story telling was different, unpredictable, and was so engaging. I really enjoyed this series.
