Okay, this show is totally worth watching, Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni is amazing. It's very rare for a horror anime to be really good, take for instance, Elfen Lied, which is so gory and awful and such a stupid plot line, it's weird and unnatural and awful. Higurashi is the complete opposite of all bad things. It's a wonderful anime about friendship, love and taking risks to change the course of life. You follow Keiichi Maebara, a likable main character in his course of life in the section of the early June of 1983 near the Watanagashi festival, and we follow the lives of his friends too, Rena Ryuugu, Mion Sonozaki, Shion Sonozaki, Rika Furude, and Satoko Hojo. All of the characters get the spotlight shone on them, unlike other horror animes, where the friends are usually one dimensional and die really easily. However, Higurashi is a masterpiece. It made me cry, it made me laugh, it made me sing along to it's ROCKING OPENINGS AND ENDINGS, and I really don't want this to be forgotten. This anime is so beautiful and sad at times and other times it's hilarious and the plot line is amazing, and will delight you. And in the end, I promise that if you give this show a chance, you'll love it. Remember to watch the other series' too!
