Required Reading I highly recommend this book to all who have an open mind to receive it. To put it Mildly: This collection of works handles a depressing subject. That of the injustices of imprisonment, the prison industrial complex, and all the oppression that they perpetuate. I found the book incredibly engaging and inspiring as well as deeply moving in fundamental ways. As I have absorbed the work, I have noticed a significant change in my view of the world and my place within it. Because this is a collection of essays, there is some amount of repetition of ideas. This does not however impede the overall flow and cohesiveness of the collection.
