I don’t know a lot of history, but usually I can get into this type of movie and enjoy them. This one was a no from me. First, it’s all CGI…and in my opinion you can tell. The whole time I’m watching I keep imagining how they filmed it in front of a green screen and animated the big ocean shots. Second, I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be sirens or if it’s part of the score but I was DYING at the weird whale-like noises that play throughout the whole thing! They were so eerie that each time one played my stomach would drop and it made me super uncomfortable. Lastly, I couldn’t follow the story well for most of the movie. For the record, I loved movies like 1917, Dunkirk, and Bridge of Spies and could tell you the story of each of them without previously knowing the history behind them. This just wasn’t for me. But that’s just me!
