To anyone who loves time travel movies, I recommend you read Kindred, by Octavia Butler. It’s about a 26 year old black woman who travels back in time. Not to yesterday, but to the early 1800’s. Instead of avoiding contact with the people of the past, she must not only behave like a slave. She must guide her ancestors both slaves and masters to build the present. This is the book that CJ and Sebastian’s teacher is reading on the last day of school!
