My biggest problem with Collen Hoover is how much she romanticises toxic relationship and abuse, as if she thinks verbal abuse is not a form of abuse, look at any of her novel, the main character (mostly the guy) will have some deep rooted issues but at the end with the help of the girl or should I say using the girl like a doormat to work through his problems he will become this great man. Ughhh
The very same thing is happening in this book.
Miles is a creep. And their whole relationship is based upon sex, their is no substance whatsoever.
And most terrible part is that the main audience of Collen Hoover are teens who thinks this is some great love story, not only it is damaging but also perpetuating the same idea forward that it is a women’s job to accept the toxicity and abuse in order for the guy to have a happy future. I mean when are we going to get rid of this mentality which is so hameful and shameful.
It is not women’s job to help abusers like this to find peace in their life, he is grown adult who can take care of himself with the help of a therapist to work on himself and his problems.
