This is a rich story, which I think the network didn't know how to promote. In the vein of Breaking Bad, Dexter, Shameless, and other dark concept shows on cable, this program starts with Dr. Jeckel and Mr. Hyde. Steven Pasquale, who I remember from Rescue Me, is both inocuously likable and terrifyingly lethal. All Hamilton fans will love the acting turns of Lin-Manuel Miranda as Reuben Murcado, chemist lab rat who tries to concoct a cure. He took this part, filmed in beautiful Philadelphia, in 2013 to pay bills while he was writing a successful play. But Reuben gets to run from evildoers, jump out a factory window, and try to be an intense good guy. His mother is one of the stars from In The Heights, Lin's first Tony-winning play. Steven is now married in real life to Pippa, original star Eliza Hamilton. Theater world. Everybody knows everybody. Look for Phylicia Rachad as the head of the hospital. This TV show can only be purchased, as far as I know. I got mine from Amazon Prime. This isn't "The Best Show Ever", but a great deal of legitimate effort went into a quality piece, and it doesn't deserve the lack of recognition it got. One season only. Well worth an investment of $19.99.
