What if it didn’t take a catastrophic disaster to force people to work together? What if trust was based on mutual respect? This film, while following the Hollywood lots of action needed formula, also explores this premise. Bureaucratic reactions versus “boots on the ground” assessment of the situation. Although all the requisite posturing was included in the dialogue, there was a subtle nuance of intelligent thoughtful interaction of the characters. I did not see this as a 100% America saves the day. I saw two sides maintaining their integrity and finding common purpose. I liked the movie more than I thought I would.
