I have not read the novel but I think this series is very interesting and really grabs the viewer from the get-go and makes you want to watch the whole season and the rest of the the entire season. I can't wait for the next season to come out! I hate waiting! I am going to purchase Anne Rice's novel as well while I am waiting since I am read some of the reviews that are saying that the series is not dong justice to the novel to do a comparison myself. But, I can say as someone who has not read the novel, that I am really enjoying this series and would recommend this series to anyone who is even a little bit interested in witches or the occult.
