Honestly, I probably wouldn't have understood what was happening in the movie all that much if I hadn't read the books beforehand. In all honesty, the only part that I deemed accurate was a lot of the dialogue. Also, what's up with the hinting that Simon was a vampire with the part where he doesn't need his glasses and the part where Clary sees the puncture wounds? There wasn't any elaboration with that. I just have to say that it was a good adaptation with decent acting, but it did not meet my own personal standards. Also, why do all the Shadowhunters have accents?
