I watched the movie.
I can see that they are trying to relate to the pressures that all little girls feel in this world. And trying to be some sort of guide or relating point in that dynamic.
However, what was actually portrayed was far from the point. Or maybe the point was to sexualize little girls.
Many snap shots of the butt, skin, twerking, provocative poses, tight clothes, etc.
All of these things little girls may be enticed to do...all these things little girls are seeing on tv, music videos, etc.
However, I do not think it should be displayed this way. We do not need close ups to a little girl twerking or spreading her legs open to the point you see a camel toe....
It was disgusting.
I think the movie could have been a growing of age story without all the extra.
Girls around this age are going through some tough stuff and their bodies are changing. I think a TV show going through those things is a good idea.
But, cuties misses the mark....terribly. instead of making a beautiful coming of age story.
They made what I can best describes as
Conditioned pedophilia....now that these girls are 11-13...
They are developed enough to be sexy, be sexual and be used for their sexuality.
That is not the lessons I want to teach my daughter. PERIOD.
I think myself and most people would rather see a young girl come of age in away that empowers her. Not for her body....but for who SHE IS AS A PERSON.
We want her to be growing in confidence.
We want her to know she is beautiful.
We want her to be honored as a women.
This movie does not do any of thing things.
The little girls are in my opinion being flaunted as tools used to satisfy sexual urges... And as far as I'm concerned.
No women should be put that low.
