In short I did not like this book. As a non-Russian, I felt that the book had much opinion and less focused on historical fact. It was proportional to the regular Fox news segments besmirching democrats to the point it was becoming ridiculous. Great feats by historic Russian leaders were met with downplay and backhanded compliments. The narrative came from the point of view of someone who was elitist and smug. It was also a struggle to read at times due to jumping back and forth in timelines to create some sort of foreshadowing effect. At the end there was a pretty sad attempt at concluding with a quote when one has no ability to predict the future. The quality of book was however quite good.
