The only possible explaination for Benedict Cumberbatch's performance in this movie is that he was actually experiencing a real life alcoholic breakdown because his performance was diabolical. For an actor as good as he is to even accept this role would suggest an unfolding personal crisis. I will have to try hard to unsee Benedict writhing around on the floor fighting off an imaginary giant child's toy because I know he is so much better than this.
