I was expecting way more than this generic story of a little girl who has a talent and become famous. Selena was more than that.
Honestly, I made an effort to give it a chance to finally like it but it's just full of cringe moments and corny jokes.
Sometimes I just felt that I was just watching another disney low budget serie.
What about her Mexican-American culture? Just a few words in Spanish, it never showed how she learn Spanish more than just one time overacting a telenovela scene. It just doesn't feel realistic, basically a Hannah Montana with darker hair.
The location they picked to show where the Quintanilla's lived was just too bad and sadly funny.
People around the world might not notice it but me as a Texan I can say that the house they picked was built not later than 2010 but on the series it was around the late 80's early 90's, it might be just me but I didn't feel right, production needed to step and do their job right.
