I really don't understand how older teens and adults enjoy animation like this and miraculous ladybug. I watched it a couple months ago and went back to rewatch it again to make this review more accurate. The story is fairly well done as well as the 90's computer art style. It has fairly good 3D animation considering it was animated by one dude. My main complaint is the voice acting. The over the top voice acting pulled me away from wanting to enjoy the series as it made me physically cringe at line delivery. Especially in the case of voice acting done for Jax. It was so over dramatic at times and I felt like the actor was trying too hard to sound "cool". Which pulled me away from the good parts of the story. I didn't mind most of the other characters but there was times I got annoyed with how over dramatic all the voice actors could be. The only character I thought had a reason for a dramatic voice was Kane due to him being part of the simulation and most likely a form of machine learning.
Overall, the show struggled to hold my attention and I just really couldn't see the hype. I went into it with high expectations due to the popularity and afterwards I felt disappointed.
In all fairness I tend to enjoy films and shows with darker themes and cryptic story telling. (I.E Breaking Bad Franchise, No Country For Old Men, John Wick, as well as Star Wars)
