I have been crazy excited for the past month to see this movie! I love Christmas and Eddie Murphy and what’s better than a classic family Christmas movie you can watch each year! This movie was TERRIBLE. Not at all what we expected. How can a movie with Eddie Murphy in it be boring?!! With our family being mixed, it makes zero difference to us if the cast in a movie is predominantly black or white. With that being said, the entire movie was written on black and white stereotypes; it was sickening. The ghetto black woman news anchor alongside the stuffy white man news anchor was disgusting. When my 6 year old son (who is black) is saying “That’s not Santa!” Because they made Santa a black man in this movie is so frustrating. If I have to watch another racially focused movie I’m gonna loose my mind. I’m not a fan of cursing in a family movie, but that was not the worst part for me. I’m not sure if the writer ran out of lines but every other line written in this movie was “Oh my God!” I’ve never watched a movie that repeated a single phrase as many times as this film. And almost every joke made fell flat. This was such a huge disappointment! It truly was a waste of 2 hours. I’m sorry to have to leave a bad review, but this film was just so shockingly bad.

Not at all appropriate for kids under 13. Also, not for boys. It’s all about a girl getting her period, getting sexual feelings for boys, and growing away from her parents…. Such a disappointment. Wish someone would have warned me before letting my two young boys watch it.
