I admit that I watched this movie after being nominated for the Academy Awards. The premise is interesting but not too catchy. Out of the curiosity, I checked this movie and I love it! This movie is such a refreshment in the middle of superheroes/comic book-based entertainment products. Even though the story focused on a deaf family and a CODA, the theme is relatable to all of us: family and dreams. I put this movie on my favorite movie list. I can't say that it deserves the Best Picture, but I love the fact that this underdog movie got its recognition. I hope there will be another movie including disabled actors covering other stories about disabled communities. SPOILER ALERT (??): My favorite scene is the one during the concert. It is brilliantly made and brought me to a chilling family's point of view. I watched it alone in my room using a monitor, used a handphone, and the goosebumps I felt hit my heart.
