In the comments of one of the google reviews on this film, someone who gave it one star said that it was "irresponsible" to stir up racial tension and that there's not really that much racism and that the film makes white people look bad, and that slavery was the fault of black Africans selling their own. This type of white hysteria illustrates the erasure of the black experience and denies the history and current climate of overt and structural racism which seemed to be a theme in this film. I'm glad this film was made not just because it was well done, but because the film-maker wasn't constrained by while fragility in the story telling of the film. Walking in his (main character's) shoes was truly well rendered horror.
