I watched Episode 1 but it was way too long and should've been halved so that it ended when the cast agreed to set out on their quest to rescue the Prince.
Love the set and the character design of the villains. The young characters are petulent children which is good because thats how youth are. The costumes were fine but could've been better. Some of the witty humor is fun.
The dialogue was out of place, the music didn't do a good job of adding tension, and the wide shots didn't add grandeur. The death of a party member neither added urgency to the situation nor did it seem sad as the characters didn't care.
Personally, I'd like it more if the stakes were high at court and the Queen mother was overbearing. For a Princess complaining about an imprisoned life, it sure didn't seem so with her mom not stressing the marriage enough upon her, and the girl's antic at the ball didn't seem to have made any difference.
I really wise there was more weight behind every decision the characters made. I felt like the story was just going on ahead without me feeling invested in any of the characters.
