It's like they re-wrote Twilight without all the nuances.
I haven't read the books and I don't intend to bc I am sorry but the enemies to lovers concept with adoptive siblings gives me the ick.
Some people would say this is a "dark romance" and "morally grey" but I say it's just a poorly made movie.
I don't think the acting really saves it as others have said, the acting is mid.
There was no build up or world building or character details given and the whole "I hate you leave me alone" then them nearly making out the next second was just really... dumb.
I have read/seen a few enemies to lovers stories in my time but so much of this movie just comes out of nowhere without any prior details. Like the scene where the friend's daughter starts getting angry at Anna?
Like that whole plot device was just plonked in there and they are just like "oh she had a thing with our dead son" afterwards.
Idk it feels like the screenplay was written by a 13y.o on wattpad.
Sorry, but this wasn't for me and I think movies like this are why I rarely give romance movies a go.
