Honestly, how can you NOT appreciate effort and kick-ass scenes. I never read the Lovecraft County books, and didn't know about the title as a whole. However, the show has really amazed me so far. I can say that episode 6 and 7 were my least favorite, but probably because a few things went over my head or I'd lose interested momentarily. Either way, the show as a whole has needle it. I am entertained and looking forward to Season 2 already. Big fan of this terrific show!
