Fair or not, the remake fails to reach the authenticity of the original miniseries. If this was a stand alone review without having read the book (great read!) or seen the original, the rating might be a little higher. The actors were ineffectual and the pacing of the story seemed sloppy and disjointed. Compared to the book and the original, there does seem to be a deliberate attempt to “diversify” the characters, which was distracting. I’ll stick with watching the original.
