It is different from the fast paced, dramatic Hollywoodian series. It is a more subtle storyline that evolves naturally rather than being forced into developing by unnatural events. Love the small town feel and the thoroughly unheroic feel of Magne. He doesn't know what he is capable of yet and the viewer doesn't either. He is learning though that super natural strength doesn't solve everything.

A refreshing change from American series and movies. One thing I do not like about kdramas are the weak female characters but finally in the Familiar Wife a woman who takes the lead and takes what she wants.

I have not enjoyed a Marvel movie the way I have enjoyed Shang Chi for a long time! I loved the understated heroes, the comic relief provided by Kathy and the way the Chinese culture was upkept through language. The latter took away the rent-a-culture some Disney movies have.
