I wonder if the 5 stars for this movie were paid for. I'm a HUGE comic book movie fan, the type that goes in for the entertainment. If there is a plot hole in it, just don't be to big of one and I can get past it as I'm watching to be entertained. I'm not here to do critical research and then discuss the intricate details and misses of the movies as most of them have them. Just entertain me for 2 hours or so, you know?
All the actors did a great job considering the script they were working with and I'm not a fan of George Lopez as an actor ( standup yes, acting no) but thought he did. A good job in this role given the script). I liked them introducing the mexican flavor into it just like marvel did in me marvel but the script made that unwatchable also.
Felt like I was watching a script for the 70's. Super cheesy.
( SPOILER--- don't read this next paragraph if you are going to watch movie, skip to next paragraph)
Through fate a young man gets alien tech attached to him from a billion dollar corporation gets captured for them to get it back and his family go in to rescue him and do from a billon dollar weapons manufacturer?
I hope this isn't what we will be expecting from the James Gunn world? If so then just as a comic book fan I will watch them for free when they come out on Max as I'm sure it would be fairly soon.
BUT, will not spend my money in the theaters on them.
There is a reason why it had low box office numbers I'm afraid to say.
NOTE: I went to check to see if there are good streaming numbers on it and then saw a bunch of publications saying great things.. ALL the comment sections I saw were TURNED OFF, lol.
Makes me wonder if those were "compensated " for in some way.
Granted while the movie was on I got up to go to bathroom and kept movie running that's how much it interested me.
AGAIN... there were some good parts, funny comments, but you get point of all of this review. If they want to see worst numbers that this movie, attempt a sequel.
