Would have given it 6* if I could. An excellent record of a mother’s inner thoughts post giving birth in a patriarchical society: The man (hunter) goes to his “important” work everyday to basically avoid engaging with the raising of his child, while the woman (gatherer/home maker) does a “creative” job and therefore should be able to combine motherhood and her vocation. We need more books that clearly articulate the struggles of motherhood instead of pushing down our throats artificially happy narratives. Chapeau Claire!
