I bought this cookbook in the mid 70s. I was 19 and wanted to learn to cook. It was laid out well, easy to read, and had tons of recipes for good ol’ southern cooking. About 10 years ago after moving, I couldn’t find my splotchy, worn out, beloved cookbook and panicked. Luckily with the advent of the internet, I got a second one. Then found my original (of course). I did learn to cook from this cookbook. Learned to bake bread, learned the basics and discovered so many go-to recipes. I’m biased, but this is my favorite cookbook ever.
